NECROMANICIDE - Hate Regime (Malaysia)
Pony Canyon Music

First release from this quadruple from Malaysia.
The vocals for this album might have gone through distortion.
It does from distorted growl to growl to black to hardcore-ish vocals.

The title track "Hate Regime" opens with fast and furious drums, REALLY heavy guitars
and with heavy distorted growled vocals. I'm impressed with the brutality on this track...
REALLY heavy stuff!!! It got my headbanging as I'm writing this review.
(Oh yeah if you are wondering, I listen to every album as I'm reviewing them)

"Mindwarped" another extremely brutal and fast track. I'm very suprised by this bands energy. This is a very tight song with really crunching guitar effects..but the vocals become hardcore-ish after a while. On parts it sounds like speed/thrash with lotsa death influences.. by the way...almost every track on this album has cool guitar solos. It leads to "Unwanted Killer" hmm this track sounds abit Industrial to me..especially on the effects and the vocals..heavily distorted vocals dominate this song, again the drumming is fast and furious...I wonder whether the drummer got cramps after recording this album

"The Descent Into Hades" double bass lets us know the quality of this song..
Black vocals echoes the growled animal in the vocalist. The music(melody) sounds abit weaker on this track, focusing on vocals to lead the effects of this track. The Industrial track "Society" follows this track,
I heard from the distro that there are no drum machines used on this album so the drumming on this song
are done manually...really kewl...Intense guitars, great(again) drumming. great melody...can make u wanna
sing to the chorus 'I don't wanna die' which is repeated over and over again on this track.

"Who am I" this is one of my favorite songs on this album, but the vocalist sounds like James Hetfield of Metallica, especially when he drags the lyrics. Great melody, but don't be mistaken..when I say melody..
I didn't mean Melodic Death Metal as in Ebony Tears, in Flames..but a great tune..
wonder who wrote this track, really good!
The guitar solo on the following track "killing Ground" made me think that that this is a classic metal track,
but far from it the double bass and the intense riffing comes in just about 30 secs into the song made me rethink my position. Thrash/Death (ever heard of this hybrid?) is all I can describe of this track. Occasional double bass on this song...if only the whole song can have double bass. It'll be heavenly.

"The Last journey" hey really deep vocals are dominate here, but sadly this song is done in mid-paced speed. If only they can speed this song up with more black vocals to lend in the effect. this will be a very outstanding track. The next 3 instrumental tracks that follow are great..but you know the thing about instrumentals..it's hard to comment on them.

"Paradigm" the BEST song and my favorite track on this album. This is grind/death at it's greatest.
The guitars tuned to very low, with deep growls, intense riffs and(again) the greatest drumming.
No other genre on this track except death/grind.
I think this is also a reason for it being my favorite as I love death/grind over the other genre of metal.
Death metal with great melody is the only way to describe this song.
Listen to it on my sound sample page to realize how great this song actually is.
"Catacombs of Death" from what I read about this track on Necromanicide's official website.
I would expect more than what I got, it was described as a 'killer tune'
but I'm kinda disappointed with it. I expected a fast and furious black metal song, only to find a
mid-paced piece with the speed going up only at parts of this song.
but thankfully the closing number "Social Grievance" is good, the speed, riffs, solo a good thrash song,
a sing-along chorus(dun flame me) make me waiting for the 2nd release from this band..but from what I heard 2 members have left the band to further their studies, hopefully they dun go on a permanent hiatus.

Once again, I salute the drummer for his great performance on this album.

SCORE : 8.5 /10
