METANOIA - Don't Walk Dead (Australia)
Rowe Production

This album is a must have for all Death Metal fans.
It include the heaviness and the low guttaral growl that Crimson Thorn is well known for. But before you might think that this Band is a rip-off or anything like that. I would invite you to rethink your position. Upon getting this album, I've been playing them over and over again. The brutal guitars and the melody(?) that comes with their songs make this band on of the best in Christiandom. The opening track is a hint to what the album is about. It starts off with heavy guitars and the vocals comes in about 15 seconds after the opening riff. Low gutteral GROWLS!!!! When it gets to the chorus, there is black vocals, death vocals, and suprisingly shouted vocals ala hardcore...
but it's not as high but a rough kind of shouting as in the band Erase.

Once of the best track in this album MUST be, in my opinion, 'The Blame'. It starts with some clean guitar before the distortion comes out. but it reverts back to clean guitar once again with some inhuman(I really wonder whether Yowie gets a sore throat for days after recording this album). There is female singing together with low growls and then the black vocals comes in. Heavenly!!!

'Yowie's Hilltop Adventure' is a personal favourate of mine. The drumming is great on this track...complete with a little blasted beat every now and then. 'Reflections' is a supprise find on this album. It has violins as the main melody complete with guitars plucking and clean singing. This has gotta be a great worship song that is not on the table of most churches around but sadly it is just a 1:34 min song. Much too short for a almost perfect song. 'Grave Beyond a Slave' has some really short kewl solos in the starting of that song. It is a slow death metal track. 'Kneeling Before Your Throne' made me thought that this track is like 'Reflections' a slow worship piece. The slow strumming might mislead people into thinking that this is a worship album full of hymns. The vocal works on this starts with hymn sorta singing, BUT immediately after that the REAL vocals comes in. The growl of Yowie which can scare any guy. 'Never' a song being sacarstic to those who think that faith in Mary the mother of Jesus is needed for salvation. It goes like 'Hail Mary, Mother of God' about 4 times before a LOUD, LOW-NEVER!!!!
The REAL supprise is the last track titled -'Bonus Track'. Yes just 'Bonus Track' it's a really cute song which starts of slow and becomes FAST AND BRUTAL. Oh yeah is that plplplplplpl sound(which sounds like a fart=P) a REAL fart???

SCORE : 9/10
Ending note: This album is a MUST for everyone who likes Death Metal.
Even a girl from my church who is not into metal like this album saying that the tunes in this album is great.
